i don't know why, but for some reason i find it comforting when i see people destroying (over time and with purpose) items that start out intimidatingly solid (like redwings, or raw jeans).

Maybe not appropriate for a worksite, but definitely the most comfortable footwear I've ever spent $2.50 or whatever on. Hot buttered sole.
